💡 How to improve your LinkedIn ER

    Three things most calculators miss

    1

    Platform context matters

    A 3% ER on LinkedIn is excellent. On TikTok, it's below average. This calculator benchmarks your result against platform-specific norms, not a one-size-fits-all average.

    2

    Not all engagement is equal

    A comment takes 10× more effort than a like. A share extends your reach. Our weighted Quality Score reflects the real depth of your audience's engagement, not just the count.

    3

    The right denominator

    ER by followers is the industry standard, but ER by reach (impressions) gives a truer picture of how compelling your content actually is. We support both — plus views for video.

    What each method measures

    Standard ER by Followers
    ER = (Likes + Comments + Shares) ÷ Followers × 100

    The most commonly reported metric. Good for tracking account-level trends over time, but can be distorted by follower count growth or inauthentic audiences.

    Precise ER by Reach
    ER = (Likes + Comments + Shares) ÷ Reach × 100

    More accurate for individual posts. Measures how well your content resonates with the people who actually saw it — especially useful for paid content or viral posts.

    Video ER by Views
    ER = (Likes + Comments + Shares) ÷ Views × 100

    Best for video content on TikTok, Reels, or YouTube Shorts. Views are a more meaningful base metric than followers for video-first formats.

    Advanced Weighted Quality Score
    ER = (L×1 + C×3 + S×2) ÷ Followers × 100

    Assigns higher weight to comments (deeper intent) and shares (amplification value) vs. passive likes. Our default multipliers are L×1, C×3, S×2 — fully adjustable.
