About Alex
Alex Boyd is a B2B growth operator, SaaS founder, and one of LinkedIn's most recognised practitioners of social selling. He is co-founder of DemandBird โ an AI-powered content repurposing platform built on the simple premise that you should write once and post everywhere โ and a partner at Wildfront, which acquires and nurtures profitable bootstrapped SaaS businesses alongside co-founder Mac Martine.
Alex previously founded RevenueZen, a B2B organic growth agency that helped SaaS companies generate pipeline through SEO and LinkedIn strategy. During that time he sourced over $8.3 million in revenue directly from LinkedIn โ averaging around $13,000 in pipeline per post. That track record became the foundation for The Social Selling Course, which he created to teach founders and sellers how to build credibility-driven pipelines on LinkedIn without resorting to spray-and-pray tactics.
He also built ViewExport, a Slack eDiscovery application that helps compliance and IT teams manage Slack data archives for audit, migration, and legal discovery โ a very different product from a growth agency, which is about right for how Alex thinks.
Earlier in his career, Alex was a top individual contributor in sales. At FXCM, he earned Rep of the Month in six of his first twelve months on the job. At inDinero, he closed roughly 183 deals in a single year with an average contract value of $12,000. The method in both cases was the same: establish genuine subject matter credibility first, then sell. He still teaches this.
Alex writes about bootstrapped SaaS, content strategy, B2B growth, and what it actually takes to build and grow products without outside funding. He is a member of the MicroConf community of bootstrapped founders, and when he's not working he describes himself โ with characteristic self-deprecation โ as "a weirdo poet who belongs in the forest." He is based in Portland, Oregon.
